How to Apply Mineral Makeup?
All make ups require different kinds of application. If you are using Mineral Makeup, you must know how to apply it and the kind of brushes that you need for different kinds of application and different kinds of skin. Given below are some basic guidelines on how to apply mineral makeup but with practice, you can develop you own technique and apply it the way that you prefer.
Any kind of make up begins with the foundation. To know how to apply foundation, check the ingredients of the mineral makeup that you are using. If it consists bismuth oxychloride then buff it well into the skin and use a kabuki brush. A kabuki brush is densely packed to give heavy coverage to the skin. It is used for heavy make up and for a matt finish.
If the makeup is not buffed into the skin properly, the pores of the skin will be emphasized and not look good. But it would be good to remember here that buffing is not too good for women with open pores and sensitive skin. It is only good for people with a healthy skin and even then may cause irritation.
Alternatively, you can use a fluffy brush, which is another way to apply makeup. It is good for mineral makeup, which does not contain bismuth oxychloride and therefore, does not need buffing.
You can follow the basic rule of make up of “swirl and tap” and leave out the buff. Just swirl the brush into the makeup, tap off the excess powder and brush it on your face in downward movements. Brushing in downward movement is recommended as the facial hair lie that way and therefore, it gives a more natural look.
If you want a good finish, you can use the wet mineral makeup too. Mix your makeup with a liquid like water or moisturizer and apply in a downward motion using a sponge or brush. It will dry and give a smooth finish.
You can use other cosmetics like concealer, blush, eye shadow and eyeliner similarly. For concealer, use your regular eye shadow brush and apply directly on the area that you wish to conceal with the same swirl, tap and brush movement.
For eye shadow, you can use wet or dry applications. The wet application will give a bolder look when it dries. Mix the wet eye shadow powder with water or moisturizer and apply.
Following these tips and practicing them regularly will help you get the correct look. You can improvise and create your own application technique that you are comfortable with.
